Assistant Professor
Aalto University
I am an Assistant Professor in the Department of Computer Science at Aalto University and lead the Computational Social Science research group. My research, at the intersection of computer science and social science, broadly focuses on leveraging digital behavioral data to quantify and characterize how people consume news and information on the web and its effect on society. More recently, I have been interested in studying the interplay between individuals’ internet use and their psychological wellbeing. I co-teach the Computational Social Science course at Aalto.
Doctoral Researcher
Aalto University
I am a Doctoral Researcher at Aalto University with a passion for Data Science and Machine Learning. My academic journey includes a Master's in Computer Application from Aligarh Muslim University. My research interests lie at the intersection of technology and social impact, with a current focus on studying the association between Internet use and psychological well-being. I have a strong background in data analysis, machine learning, and natural language processing. I am committed to leveraging technology to address social challenges, particularly in digital health.
Research Assistant
Aalto University
I’m a research assistant with a background in AI. I have primarily been working on digital phenotyping using people's web browsing and mobile usage traces. Part of my research has been to predict mental health states from digital traces using machine learning algorithms, and identify actionable insights for the development of preventative digital health technologies. I am deeply passionate about leveraging statistics and machine learning to address real-world challenges, particularly in the intersection of technology and society.
Master Student
Aalto University
My current research interests are in the field of Natural Language Processing, more specifically in Large Large Models, with a focus on multimodality and in context learning. In the CSS group, my main interest has been in studying how these methodologies can be effectively applied to computational social science, with a particular focus on political science research.
Master Student
