SICSS Amsterdam Keynote

Juhi gave the opening Keynote talk at the Summer Institute for Computational Social Science at University of Amsterdam. In her talk titled “Unraveling our internet-mediated lives”, she discussed how we utilize digital behavioural data to study our internet-mediated lives. Through a blend of diverse data sources and research methods, she demonstrated how we can examine human behavior on the web and its influence on individual’s opinions, attitudes and behaviors both online and offline.

New PhD Student Joins the Group

We’re excited to welcome Yajing Wang as a new PhD student in our research group. She joined us in March 2025 and will be focusing on exploring the relationship between digital behavior and mental health. Yajing holds a Master’s degree in Human-Computer Interaction (HCI) from Aalto University. As part of her doctoral work, she will be applying computational methods to analyze digital trace data and investigate how online activities impact mental health issues such as loneliness and overall well-being. Her work aims to bridge the gap between what we do online and how we feel offline. Yajing holds a Master’s degree in Human-Computer Interaction (HCI) from Aalto University. In her doctoral research, she will be using computational methods to study digital trace data and explore how these behaviors influence loneliness, mental health challenges, and overall well-being. Her work aims to explore the connection between online actions and emotional experiences. We look forward to the ideas and energy Yajing brings as we continue exploring the complex relationship between digital life and psychological health.
